When you’re zipping through the air at 60 kilometres per hour, it can be hard to work out where you’re going. But now drones can create detailed 3D maps as they fly – an advance that could let them navigate the world free from human input.

Think of this course as a gateway to becoming a drone engineer/developer. We will cover all of the layers of the flight stack, with slightly more focus on the API to Firmware layer. We will use a simulated drone as our test vehicle, so you can start drone coding right from your computer!

What will be fun

Understanding of the importance for each component that makes up the flight stack. How to fly a simulated drone from your computer running the codebase MAVLink middleware and how it is used as a communication glue in the flight stack.

What will be hard

Understanding that Drones serve a variety of purposes, such as recreational, photography, commercial and military, their two basic functions are flight and navigation.

Get training and experience on live projects.
